According to former Manchester United attacking winger Cristiano Ronaldo, Michael Owen will be a big hit at Old Trafford. Ronaldo said that Owen is the right man for the famous seven number Manchester United shirt.
After leaving Newcastle United, Owen was signed by United as he was available as a free agent. He was brought to Old Trafford to fill the place which was left empty following the departure of Ronaldo to Real Madrid for a world record £80million fee.
Ronaldo backed 29 year Owen by saying that Owen will make a big impact at United and also said that Owen wants to get his career back on track after having injuries for almost four-years which lead a downfall to his career. He added that United have done the right thing to get Owen at Old Trafford and give him the United seven number shirt.
Before finally selling Ronaldo to Madrid, the Portuguese star was heavily linked for a move to Madrid for almost two-years. He added by saying that leaving Man Utd was not an easy decision, yet he is exited to be at Bernabeu.
Ronaldo said that he has spent six long years at United and he was only 18 when he joined Manchester United.
He said it was not easy for me to leave United, the club where I had a lot of good friends, the people related to the club were also very good and lets not forget this is the club with whom I won several individual and collective awards and trophies.
He said joining Madrid is a good move as I am a man of challenges and life itself is a big challenge. Signing for Real Madrid is of great value to the Galacticos. Real Madrid’s spending this summer has gone up to almost £180million mark following the signing of Karim Benzema from Lyon, from AC Milan and their biggest signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Reports suggests that after the arrival of so many big stars, these signings may lead to problems in the dressing room but there are no such problems, revealed Ronaldo. He said that he is really very happy to be a part of this wonderful team. He said that he was very happy to see the way my other team-mates welcomed me. At the end Ronaldo said that he is really happy to be here and there are no problems with any of my team-mates.
