It was revealed today that Carlos Tevez has joined Man City . The Argentinian striker refused claims that he avoided calls and text messages from his former club manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
On Tuesday Tevez arrived in city of Manchester for a medical and it is suggested that he has agreed a five-year deal with the Eastlands club. Carlos left Manchester United at the end of last season and this is now Man City’s third major summer signing. Tevez attending his first press conference as a City player said that during his two-year spell at United he was never contacted bu his manager.
On other hand, transfer speculation continues as it is suggested that Tevez could be joined by Emmanuel Adebayor the Arsenal striker and John Terry. Carlos was revealed in from of the media on Tuesday before they go for their three matches which will be held in South Africa.
Mark Hughes City Manager insisted that Carlos Tevez might not be the last major signing at the club. He said opportunities will be there. The main reason of signing big names is to fill those areas where the club is weak at.
He said to challenge the big four clubs of the and to break into the top four, we want to be in a position where our team can challenge anyone and this we want to be done perfectly before the season starts. If any opportunity is there to sign any other big player we will buy them.
When a question was asked from Mark Hughes that signing of Tevez is of good value for money for the club or not, the manager replied by saying that having Tevez as a City player is more then a good value for the club.
He also added that having Carlos Tevez as a part of our team is a really big achievement for us and for development of the club we need to have world class strikers in our team and Tevez is a world class player and everyone related to this club is delighted with his arrival.
